HHS hosts and assists third-party therapy and service dog
services 2-3 times annually. HHS does not train these
animals, nor do we coordinate the training. We simply
offer our facilities to these services to support their efforts.

My Angel With Paws is a 100% volunteer based non-profit
501(c)3 organization committed to expanding public
understanding and knowledge of the needs of children
and adults with disabilities through the rescuing, breeding,
training, placement and continuing education of service
dogs and animal assisted therapy dogs in the state of
Florida.
We train dogs to help people with disabilities live fuller, more independent lives. To keep our quality high, we specialize in a few types of service dogs.

Mobility Service Dog - Assists with retrievals, opening and closing doors, turning lights on and off, etc.
Balance Brace Service Dog - Assists in maintaining balance while walking, getting out of a chair or off the floor, etc.
Seizure Response Service Dog - Trained to respond to an individual's needs once a seizure has occurred
PTSD Service Dog - Helps alleviate hyper-vigilance, assists in clearing a room, calms during/after a night terror, etc.
Animal Assisted Therapy Dog - Works alongside a therapist to assist with rehabilitation

Our program is special in a lot of ways. We focus on the temperament of the dogs, using positive training techniques and encouraging their natural desire to please. The placement program includes a small-group training course that takes handler-dog teams into public under staff guidance, so the humans can learn what the dogs already have. MAWP staff gives support before, during, and after placement to give our teams the keys to success.
